BRUSSELS (February 26, 2019) – Florence Muls will join Interel Belgium next May as Managing Director. She will succeed Baudouin Velge, who will entrust her with the day-to-day management of the practice, while he continues to serve customers.
Muls is currently Head of Corporate Communication at Brussels Airport Company where she has been active since 2013. Prior to that, she was External Communication Manager of Base Company and Head of Press & Public Relations at Winterthur. Commenting on the appointment, Interel CEO, Fredrik Lofthagen, said, “I am delighted to welcome Florence Muls to the team. She is a first rate communication practitioner with the gravitas, experience, and leadership skills that you need to succeed in the market today. Since I took on the role of CEO in 2006, our focus has been to grow Interel internationally, building out our EU Affairs practice while adding offices in Berlin, London, Delhi, Beijing, and, more recently, a team of 100 consultants in Washington, D.C. By adding Florence and re-vamping our Belgian practice we have now brought our business full circle, getting back to our roots and investing to ensure that we grow and sustain our position as a leader on the Belgian market, offering the highest quality service to our clients.”
“I am very happy to join Interel, one of the most respected companies in the field of communications and public affairs in Belgium,” says Muls. “Today, organizations are increasingly looking for strong support in public affairs and strategic communications. Interel offers a wide range of complementary solutions which are perfectly adapted to recent developments and market needs. I was particularly impressed by the company, its international positioning, its vision, and its dynamism. I am delighted to join Interel Belgium’s highly experienced team and, building on my experience, to contribute to strengthening its attractiveness towards its clients.”
“After more than ten years at the head of Interel Belgium, I am very happy that Florence has agreed to succeed me,” says Baudouin Velge. “She is a highly respected communications professional, and I am convinced that her vast experience will further strengthen Interel’s ability to offer its clients a range of services in the field of communications and public affairs in Belgium.
